We all have a deep and nostalgic love Lego here at Dogfish and what Lego have done here is nothing short of genius. Surely every one will want to have little icy Lego men in your drinks this summer. I know I will!

This is quality stuff, someone has made a printer for their Mac out of Lego and a felt-tip pen.

Nathan Sawaya – Lego Artist

Nathan Sawaya has created greatness out of those tiny bricks, maybe I should blow the dust of my old Lego trunk and give it a go.

Brick By Brick

A little while we posted a blog about the use of Lego in art. There is another artist, called Nathan Sawaya, making incredible sculptures out of the little blocks. His solo debut is in the Agora Gallery, NYC where the artist explores the limitless possibilities of the childhood toy, going as far as to create a life-sized “self-portrait”.

The exhibition opened yesterday and goes on till April 13 so if you happen to be in New York go check it out and send us some pictures.

The Fun is in the Building!

One of the biggest toys of yester-year seems to be making a big cult comeback. Ususal associated as a toy for kids making cars, or boats, or monster trucks, but now the kids that used to play with it are all grown up but that hasn’t stopped them.

This picture is taken from a new book by designer and illustrator Christoph Niemann, called I LEGO N.Y., where he uses the toy to portray a series of LEGO-based pieces referencing iconic aspects of the New Yorks culture.
